Liam Fine is an associate in Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher’s New York office. He is a member of the firm’s Litigation Department.
Liam joined Gibson Dunn in October of 2023 and will be serving as a law clerk to the Honorable Naomi Reice Buchwald of the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York in the fall of 2024.
Liam’s practice is broad, and he has experience in complex commercial litigation across many industries. Liam also maintains a robust pro bono practice, including representing the Giffords Law Center to Prevent Gun Violence in State of California, et al., v. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms & Explosives, et al., which successfully challenged the federal government’s regulation of untraceable “ghost guns.”
Liam earned his law degree from Columbia Law School in 2023, where he was a senior editor of the Columbia Law Review and published a student Note addressing the interplay between climate change and the resilience of the electric utility grid. He also served as a judicial extern to the Honorable John P. Cronan of the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York. Before attending law school, Liam worked as an Investment Banking Analyst at Lazard, where he specialized in Mergers & Acquisitions and corporate restructuring in the Power, Energy, and Infrastructure industry. Liam earned degrees in Economics and Political Science from Amherst College, where he graduated Phi Beta Kappa.
Liam is a member of the New York State bar and is also admitted to practice before the U.S. District Courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York.
