David Murphy is an associate in the Orange County office of Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher, where he practices in the firm’s Litigation Department and is a member of the Labor & Employment Practice Group. Prior to re-joining the firm in 2023, David served as a law clerk to the Honorable Allison D. Burroughs of the United States District Court for the District of Massachusetts. He was previously an associate in the firm’s Washington, D.C. office from 2019 to 2022.

David received his law degree from the University of California, Berkeley, School of Law in 2019, where he was director of the Youth Advocacy Project and served as a teaching assistant for the First Year Legal Research and Writing Program. While in law school, David served as a judicial extern to the Honorable Charles R. Breyer of the United States District Court for the District of Northern California.

David graduated cum laude from Colby College with a Bachelor of Arts degree, and was a member of the cross-country and track teams.

David is a member of the California and District of Columbia Bars.
