Georg Weidenbach is a partner in the Frankfurt office of Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher. He is a member of the firm’s Antitrust and Competition and the Litigation Groups.
Mr. Weidenbach focuses his practice on European and German antitrust law. He regularly advises clients on cartel investigations and related cartel damage claims, merger control, compliance programs and audits, antitrust related distribution and abuse of dominance matters.

Mr. Weidenbach regularly publishes on antitrust matters. Besides many articles, he recently co-edited a handbook on antitrust damage claims (Kartellrechtliche Schadensersatzklagen, 2018/2021, Frankfurt am Main) and authored chapters about antitrust compliance (Handbuch Compliance-Management, 3rd edition 2020, Berlin) and antitrust limits for commercial contracts (Münchener Vertragshandbuch, Vol. 2, Wirtschaftsrecht I, 8th edition 2020, Munich). He has also been teaching antitrust law at German universities, including the EBS Law School and the University of Münster.
Prior to joining Gibson Dunn, Mr. Weidenbach was Deputy Office Managing Partner of the German offices of a renowned US law firm.
Mr. Weidenbach is a founding member of the association of antitrust lawyers in the wider Frankfurt region (Kartellrechtsforum Frankfurt am Main).

In antitrust damages proceedings, Mr. Weidenbach has represented defendants as well as claimants in many cases, for example, with regard to the European pre-stressing steel cartel, the global freight forwarding cartel, the German rail track cartel, a global cartel in the healthcare industry, a multi-jurisdictional cartel in the area of energy supply, a settlement case concerning the EC Cash payment system, and numerous cartels related to automotive parts.
