Selina Sagayam is an English qualified Partner in the London office of Gibson, Dunn and Crutcher.

Ms. Sagayam's practice is focused on international corporate transactional and advisory work, including public and private mergers and acquisitions, international equity capital markets, fund raisings, corporate governance and regulatory advice. She is recognised as having particular expertise in the UK Takeover Code and public company M&A, having been seconded for two years to the UK Panel on Takeovers and Mergers, the key regulatory body that governs public company acquisitions in the UK.  Her secondment involved her regulating bidders, targets and shareholders on headline recommended, competitive and hostile bids and other special situations involving public companies.

Recent representative matters include: 

  • Advising Odyssey Investment Partners LLC on its competitive bid for EAG
  • Advising Marlin Equity Partners on its public offer for Chelford Group
  • Advising on possible offers for iSoft and Econergy International
  • Advising Borse Dubai on the acquisition of its stake in the London Stock Exchange  
  • Advising K&F Industries Holding Inc. on its acquisition by Maggitt plc
  • Advising on the public offers for Euronext, BAA and The Peninsual & Oriental Steam Navigation Company

Ms. Sagayam has significant experience in the TMT and financial services sectors.  She is a regular speaker at conferences in UK and Europe on takeovers and cross-border M&A.  She has authored articles on capital markets and M&A issues and has been quoted and appeared in UK national press and media for her views on M&A transactions.  She is recognised as a "rising star" in the 2007 edition of Legal 500, and British daily national newspaper The Times (January 8, 2008) identified her in its listing of ten "Main Players in US Firms in London".
