Michael Desmond is Co-Chair of the Firm’s Global Tax Controversy and Litigation Group. His practice covers a broad range of federal tax matters with a focus on tax controversy and litigation. For more than 25 years, he has represented clients before the examination divisions of the Internal Revenue Service (IRS), the IRS Independent Office of Appeals, in the United States Tax Court and in federal district courts, the Court of Federal Claims and various federal courts of appeal.
Brian Gilchrist practices dispute resolution, with a focus on commercial litigation involving matters concerning banking, insurance, tax, employment, contentious probate, directors’ duties and minority shareholders’ rights. He is also an experienced advisor on regulatory matters and has handled both domestic and multijurisdictional arbitrations. Brian has acted as a key legal advisor to many of the largest Hong Kong and international companies and institutions. She has particular experience in tax, contentious probate and estate administration, mental health, private wealth, and boardroom and shareholders disputes. She has acted as legal adviser to many Hong Kong and overseas-listed corporations and financial institutions, and ultra-high net worth individuals and trusts and has wide-ranging experience in challenging big ticket litigation.
Alex Wong practices commercial litigation and dispute resolution, including tax, trust and contentious probate, commercial, company, shareholders and joint venture disputes. He also specializes in international arbitration as well as admiralty and shipping disputes.
