Based in any U.S. office, the HR Compliance Assistant will be primarily responsible for coordinating and administering the Firm’s background screening program and supporting the HR Compliance department in annual training and reporting processes, and activities, as well as ad hoc compliance related projects.
This role will report to the Associate Director, Human Resources.
Responsibilities:
- Administering background check processes globally, including supporting vendor management, as well as pre-adjudicating results and escalating to HR leadership, where needed.
- Managing candidate-related authorizations/consents and jurisdiction-specific disclosures.
- Supporting compliance-related onboarding processes, including I-9 for U.S. hires, bar-related audits and new hire paperwork to ensure start-date readiness.
- Assisting with the completion of all US compliance-related reporting activities such as the EEO-1, CA Pay Data Reporting, I-9, and Limited Liability Partnership (LLP) reporting processes, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and adherence to regulatory standards.
- Assisting with the maintenance and tracking of annual, new hire, and on-demand compliance training programs, including harassment avoidance, workplace violence prevention, and other mandatory requirements.
- Assisting with global liability insurance renewals and insurance-related activities.
- Liaising with other departments to assist in the completion of client questionnaires.
Qualifications
- Exceptional attention to detail and organization; critical thinking and sound judgment with ability to analyze and resolve problems.
- Experience in providing accurate, timely and responsive services on complex problems.
- Strong written and oral communication skills as well as interpersonal skills necessary to maintain effective relationships with attorneys, professional staff and clients.
- Capable of maintaining confidence of personal and highly sensitive information.
- Strong organizational skills with ability to prioritize multiple tasks and priorities, while meeting deadlines of fast-paced environment.
Experience
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- At least one (1) year of HR, recruiting operations, or compliance administration experience in a comparable role in a professional services environment preferred.
- Familiarity with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations. Familiarity with international employment laws, practices, and data privacy laws a plus.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite.
- Knowledge of SharePoint and Microsoft Teams desirable. Experience with background check vendor portals, including HireRight, preferred.

Compensation & Benefits:
The annual compensation range for this position is $60 – 70k. The salary offered within this range will depend upon qualifications and other operational considerations.
