Based in any U.S. office, the Legal Technology Solutions Architect will be responsible for advancing the firm’s Legal Technology and Artificial Intelligence initiatives by designing, implementing, and maintaining technology solutions that enhance productivity and business workflows, both for practitioners and business services teams. This role focuses on developing AI-enabled solutions, including prompt engineering frameworks and synthetic datasets, to support legal and operational use cases across the firm.

The Legal Technology Solutions Architect works closely with attorneys, Information Technology, Knowledge Management, and other internal stakeholders to build scalable tools, evaluate emerging technologies, and support the adoption of artificial intelligence solutions throughout the firm.

This role reports to the Manager and Attorney of Legal Technology and Artificial Intelligence.

Responsibilities include:

  • Design and implement information systems and AI-enabled solutions that improve legal and business workflows across the firm.
  • Develop and maintain prompt engineering frameworks to ensure reliable, consistent outputs from generative AI systems used by attorneys and staff.
  • Create synthetic datasets using AI tools to support testing, experimentation, and proof-of-concept initiatives for new technology solutions.
  • Collaborate with legal and business teams to identify opportunities where technology and automation can improve processes and efficiency.
  • Build and maintain internal and client-facing intranet sites, ensuring usability, accessibility, and professional design.
  • Assist in evaluating emerging legal technology and AI tools through pilot programs, demonstrations, and internal testing.
  • Develop and maintain documentation, playbooks, and best practices related to AI-enabled workflows and technology implementations.
  • Create training materials and provide guidance to attorneys and professional staff on the use of AI tools and legal technology solutions.
  • Work with cross-functional teams, including IT and Knowledge Management, to ensure solutions integrate effectively with existing systems and comply with firm policies.
  • Support ongoing improvements to internally developed AI tools, including refining prompts, testing outputs, and improving user experience.
  • Monitor developments in legal technology and artificial intelligence to identify opportunities for innovation within the firm.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, information systems, data science, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
  • 4+ years of professional experience in AI prompt engineering, workflow automation, applied technology, programming, engineering, or related technical roles.
  • Experience working with legal technology, enterprise software, or AI-enabled solutions in a law firm, professional services environment, or technology organization.
  • Demonstrated experience with prompt engineering, including designing prompts and workflows that produce consistent, high-quality outputs from AI systems.
  • Experience creating or working with datasets for testing, experimentation, or AI development, including synthetic data generation.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate business or legal requirements into technical solutions.
  • Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams and supporting technology adoption initiatives.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced professional environment.

Experience

  • Experience working with generative AI platforms, large language models, or AI-enabled workflow tools.
  • Familiarity with web technologies used to build internal portals or intranet sites.
  • Experience developing training materials or conducting training sessions for technology solutions.
  • Exposure to legal technology platforms such as knowledge management systems, document management systems, or workflow automation tools.
  • Basic familiarity with APIs, data pipelines, or integrations between enterprise systems.
  • Programming, database, and web development experience.

Compensation & Benefits:

The annual compensation range for this position is $150-200k. The salary offered within this range will depend upon qualifications and other operational considerations.
