David Herman is an associate in the New York office of Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher. He practices in the firm’s Litigation Department and is a member of the Appellate and Constitutional, Media, Entertainment, and Technology, and International Arbitration practice groups. He also maintains an active pro bono practice, focused on Supreme Court and appellate work.
David graduated from Yale Law School, where he was a Features & Book Reviews Editor of the Yale Law Journal, and a member of the Supreme Court Advocacy Clinic and the Advanced Appellate Litigation Project. He also served as community chair of OutLaws, Yale’s LGBT law student organization. While at Yale, he received the Benjamin Scharps Prize (best paper by a third-year student), the Colby Townsend Memorial Prize (best paper by a second-year student), and the Judge Ralph K. Winter Prize (best paper written in law and economics). He was an intern at the New York State Office of the Attorney General in the Civil Rights Bureau, and the United States Department of Justice in the Voting Section of the Civil Rights Division.
Prior to law school, David was an Investment Associate at Bridgewater Associates in Westport, CT. He graduated from Harvard University with an A.B. in Statistics and a Secondary in Government.
He is admitted to practice in the State of New York.
