Tawkir Chowdhury is a litigation associate in the New York office of Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher.
Tawkir received his Juris Doctor, with honors and Pro Bono Honors, in 2022 from The University of Chicago Law School. At the University of Chicago, he served as an Articles Editor on The University of Chicago Legal Forum, as Vice President of the South Asian Law Students Association, and as Vice President of First Generation Professionals. While in law school, Tawkir worked in the Criminal and Juvenile Justice Clinic where he delivered a closing argument at an evidentiary hearing. He also served as a Research Assistant to Professor John Rappaport and as legal intern for the criminal division of the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of New York and the Queens County District Attorney’s Office.
Prior to law school, Tawkir worked as a corporate paralegal for several years at prominent law firms. Tawkir received his Bachelor of Arts in Asian Languages and Civilizations from Amherst College in 2015, where he also obtained a Certification from the Five College Consortium in International Relations.
Tawkir is admitted to practice in the State of New York.
