Miranda Cole is a senior associate in the Brussels office of Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher, having joined the Firm in October 2003. Prior to joining the Firm, Ms. Cole spent three years with a leading Australian firm and almost seven years with a leading American communications and competition practice in London and Brussels.

Ms. Cole practices competition and communications law and policy.  Her competition work has included merger control, actions under Article 82 EC, advisory work relating to agreements and arrangements, including distribution and licensing practices (both before the European Commission and national competition authorities), and actions before the European Courts.  In relation to communications, Ms. Cole's experience extends across all aspects of regulation, policy and competition law relating to the sector, and counselling relating to the impact of regulation on transactions in the sector.  It encompasses advice to, and the defence of, private companies and their advisors, and counselling of government institutions and bodies.

Ms. Cole is a frequent author of articles relating to competition law and communications policy.  She is co-author of the following recent articles:

Further, Ms. Cole has been a primary author of a number of landmark studies for the European Commission in the development of key policy issues in the communications and media sectors.

In addition, she is regularly invited to speak and lecture, and is currently a lecturer in Communications Law & Policy at the University of Strathclyde, Glasgow.

Ms. Cole is a member of the Law Societies of England and Wales and Queensland.
