Based in New York or D.C., the Conflicts/New Matters Clerk will be responsible for working closely with firm attorneys, other Conflicts Clerks, Analysts, and the Intake/Conflicts Manager, as well as other members of the New Business Intake Department.

The role reports to the Intake/Conflicts Senior Manager.

Responsibilities include: 

  • Review, research and prepare new client/matter conflict reports.
  • Review, research and prepare lateral conflict reports.
  • Input/remove attorney alerts and flags.
  • Review and process new client and matter intake documents.
  • Review and input client and matter information into client/matter database.
  • Review and process client / matter updates including but not limited to matter closures, reactivations, add party requests and relationship partner updates.
  • Heavy data entry.

Qualifications

  • Excellent keyboarding skills, with the ability to type 60 wpm with 95% accuracy.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Must be extremely detailed oriented, organized and have great follow through skills.
  • Must be able to juggle and prioritize multiple projects.
  • The ability to pay close attention to detail and to carefully follow instructions and adhere to established procedures is critical.
  • Must be able to maintain strict confidentiality.
  • Flexibility to work overtime, weekends, and holidays based on department needs is required.

Experience

  • 1 year of legal conflicts experience preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and CMS/Aderant a plus.

Compensation & Benefits:
The annual compensation range for this position is $60-80k. The salary offered within this range will depend upon qualifications and other operational considerations.
