Based in London, the catering and conferences services assistant will be responsible for providing support to our catering and conferences services.

Responsibilities include:

Day to day tasks split amongst the team:

  • General hospitality: provide beverage and food services for meeting rooms, working lunches, special functions
  • Provide services in the Staff Café, including barista services
  • Clean coffee machines, stock F&B items in the office pantries
  • Ensure proper cleanliness of main kitchen and Café, including equipment
  • Ensure compliance with the Food Hygiene and Health and Safety at Work Act in the kitchen, Cafe and associated stores
  • Report accidents or complaints to appropriate management representative
  • Report faults in equipment to the Catering and Conference Services supervisor or Facilities manager and liaise with external provider to resolve them, where relevant
  • Assist clients and visiting attorneys with their catering requests
  • Monitor office vending machines
  • Support Catering team, providing assistance in any Catering role as and when the need arises

Additional duties when covering for other team members:

  • Prepare food as per instructions when the Catering and Conference Services Supervisor is out of office
  • Check and record stock deliveries, take and update inventory, record Café activity data
  • Carry out administrative tasks as required, including invoice processing
  • Liaise with external providers to order catered meals as needed
  • Help coordinate workloads amongst team members when required, assist others on team to ensure high level of service is provided at all times
  • Other reasonable duties which are part of, and incidental to, this type of work

Qualifications

  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Ability to work on own initiative especially under pressure and to think clearly and logically
  • Ability to undertake multiple tasks and prioritise accordingly
  • Presentable appearance, good communication skills
  • Good interpersonal and team skills
  • Flexibility with hours of work and willingness to complete overtime is essential

Experience

  • Hospitality experience working in a corporate environment
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Word, Outlook
  • Experience working with Room Scheduler or similar a plus, although training will be provided
