Matt Aleksic is an associate in the Dispute Resolution Group of Gibson Dunn & Crutcher’s London office.
Mr. Aleksic has experience in a wide range of contentious matters involving complex commercial litigation, international arbitration, and various types of investigations. During his time with Gibson Dunn he was seconded to the in-house litigation team of a Swiss bank. He also maintains an active pro bono practice. Prior to joining Gibson Dunn, he articled with a national litigation and insolvency firm in Toronto.
Mr. Aleksic earned his Juris Doctor from the University of Western Ontario, where he competed in the Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition at the national and international levels, winning the award for best respondent memorial in Canada. During his studies he also spent a semester at Stockholm University focusing on maritime law.
Prior to studying law, Mr. Aleksic worked in government relations and political management in Ottawa, where he last represented the health biotechnology industry at the national level. He earned his Honours Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from the University of Toronto and a Master of Public Policy from Georgetown University in Washington DC.
Mr. Aleksic was admitted as a barrister and solicitor of Ontario, Canada in 2017. He qualified as a solicitor in England and Wales in 2018 and holds rights of audience for civil proceedings in all courts.
