Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher LLP is pleased to announce that Lawrence Zweifach has joined the firm's New York office as a partner. Zweifach practices in the areas of securities and antitrust litigation, as well as white collar defense and investigations. He was formerly with Heller Ehrman and has served in the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Eastern District of New York as Chief of the Criminal Division.

Also joining Gibson Dunn's New York office from Heller Ehrman is of counsel Richard Cashman and associate Eric Creizman. Cashman focuses on securities and complex commercial litigation, and Creizman focuses on white collar defense and complex commercial litigation.
Zweifach joins a group of more than 25 former Assistant U.S. Attorneys, U.S. Department of Justice prosecutors, and U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission enforcement alumni at Gibson Dunn. In recent months, Gibson Dunn has recruited three other partners in securities litigation and enforcement and accountants' liability, including Mark Schonfeld, the former Director of the SEC New York Regional Office; and Robert Hubbell, Charles Jaeger and George Brown from Heller Ehrman.

About Lawrence J. Zweifach
Zweifach has extensive experience in complex civil and criminal litigation, including securities, antitrust, SEC enforcement investigations and litigation, FCPA matters, corporate governance, internal investigations and white collar criminal defense.
He has considerable jury trial and appellate experience and has represented a broad spectrum of clients, including public and private corporations, public accounting firms, boards of directors, special committees, audit committees, corporate officers and directors, commercial and investment banks, investment advisors, hedge funds, mutual funds and broker-dealers.
Before joining Heller Ehrman in 2000, Zweifach was a partner and chair of the litigation department at Gordon Altman. From 1977 to 1986, he was an Assistant U.S. Attorney in the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Eastern District of New York, holding various leadership positions, including Deputy Chief of the Criminal Division, before becoming Chief of the Criminal Division in 1984.
Zweifach recently received the New York City Bar Association's Thurgood Marshall Award for his pro bono defense of capital cases over the past 10 years.
Zweifach is a 1973 graduate of George Washington University Law School, cum laude. Upon graduation from law school, he served as a clerk for Judge Harold A. Stevens of the New York Court of Appeals, the state's highest court, and for U.S. District Judge Henry Bramwell of the Eastern District of New York.
