Based in Singapore, Hong Kong or Dubai, the primary role of this position is to provide superior service to the firm’s customers by analyzing needs, developing and delivering appropriate training and information.

Depending on the assigned office, this position may report directly to the IS Training Manager, IS Training Supervisor or IS Training Coordinator.

Responsibilities include:

  • Having an above-average proficiency and competency in all IS-supported software and hardware.
  • Coordinates, schedules and delivers new hire training for all attorneys and staff.
  • Works closely with Global Services personnel to implement smooth software rollouts. Participates in firm wide initiatives (projects) including regression testing, analysis of business needs, prototyping of software, research and development of best practices and analysis of user reaction.
  • Researches, plans, organizes and delivers training programs for all attorneys and staff.
  • Writes materials for training programs as requested; evaluates, learns and makes recommendations for changes for new programs and software upgrades.
  • Distributes training aids such as Bulletins, QuickCards and handouts. Will also be asked to prepare any of the above.
  • Maintains a working relationship with the Director of Admin to determine specific needs within the office.
  • As required, provides floor support in local office to offer training assistance; maintains communications with the members of the office(s) to determine training needs; offers “Just-in-Time” training as needed.
  • Participates as an active member of the local office to provide platinum-level service in training and support.
  • Contacts attendees and department representatives about training program opportunities (maintains an updated calendar).
  • Schedules and prepares the setup of the physical classroom, conference room or virtual classroom.
  • Maintains a working relationship with the Support Center and Local IS Teams, actively participating in troubleshooting and problem escalation.
  • Works with Local IS Team on various projects. Position may require limited lifting (25 lbs. or less).
  • May assist Office Admin with testing and evaluating potential hires, e.g., assessing the technical skills of secretaries during the interview process.
  • May assist outside consultants with preparation and administration of various training programs.

Qualifications

  • Ability to work with a diverse audience whose skill levels can be at polar extremes.
  • Ability to diffuse potential problems and enjoys work under pressure situations while maintaining a positive approach toward their customers.
  • The ideal candidate will be comfortable with one on one as well as group presentations.
  • Must have the ability to translate technical concepts and terms into understandable terminology for participants.
  • Ability to tailor the level of a presentation to the educational and skill level of those in attendance.
  • Must be able to perform duties independently.

Experience

  • University degree and Microsoft certifications in Office 2016/2019 are preferred.
  • A least five years of verifiable experience delivering technical training to corporate-level participants in the legal industry.
  • Successful completion of training assignments, as verifiable through evaluations or references, is required.
  • Experience in a comparable law firm is desirable.
  • Existing membership in any training-related organization is desirable.
  • The candidate must have solid knowledge of the Windows 10 operating system, Microsoft Office 2019/Office 365, Adobe Acrobat, iManage applications and various smartphone devices. Experience with Apple iOS devices, as well as legal applications such as Aderant Expert Time, Litera Compare and Best Authority is a plus.
  • Experience with Camtasia, Captivate or other eLearning video-production
