Brian Barnes is an associate in the Denver office of Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher where he currently practices in the firm’s litigation department.
Mr. Barnes received his law degree summa cum laude from Duke University School of Law in 2018. During law school, Mr. Barnes was a staff editor on the Duke Law Journal and a Co-Director of the Duke Street Law Durham Youth Home Project. He was elected to the Order of the Coif and received the Outstanding Achievement in Intellectual Property and Technology Law Award for the class of 2018. Mr. Barnes received his Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, magna cum laude, from the University of Nevada, Reno. He received the Senior Scholar Award and Outstanding Senior Award for the College of Agriculture Biotechnology and Natural Resources class of 2015.
Before joining Gibson Dunn, Mr. Barnes clerked for the Honorable Todd M. Hughes of the United States Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit.
Mr. Barnes is admitted to practice law in Colorado and before the United States Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit.
