James Jackson, a Registered Foreign Lawyer (New York), is an associate of Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher LLP and a member of the firm’s Private Equity and M&A Groups.
Mr. Jackson’s practice focuses on representing private equity funds and other institutional investors in mergers and acquisitions transactions. He has represented clients on transactions involving target companies in a broad array of industries including infrastructure, mining, logistics, telecommunications and business process outsourcing, among others. His experience covers many geographies both in Asia and globally, including China, Australia, Southeast Asia, Korea, India, the U.S. and Canada. Mr. Jackson has also represented clients on a variety of transaction structures – leveraged and unleveraged, growth equity investments, distressed acquisitions, debt-to-equity swaps, minority investments and control transactions.
Mr. Jackson received his J.D. cum laude in 2012 from Harvard Law School, where he served on the board of the Harvard Asia Law Society and as co-chair of the Harvard Asia Business Conference. In 2007, he received his B.A. in Asian Studies and Chinese Language with high honors from the University of Texas at Austin. Mr. Jackson also studied abroad in Beijing at Beijing Foreign Studies University, Peking University and Tsinghua Law School.
Mr. Jackson is a member of the New York Bar and is a Registered Foreign Lawyer (New York) in Hong Kong.
