BIOGRAPHY

​Sarah Wazen serves as Of Counsel in Gibson Dunn’s Dispute Resolution practice in London, where she focuses primarily on international arbitration, litigation and data privacy.

Ms Wazen has extensive experience of international arbitration and cross-border litigation, with particular expertise in bilateral investment treaty arbitration. She has conducted arbitrations under a wide range of rules (including ICC, ICSID, LCIA, UNCITRAL and NAFTA), and subject to a variety of procedural and governing laws in both common law and civil law jurisdictions. Ms Wazen has handled arbitrations (as counsel and arbitrator) across a broad range of commercial matters, including telecommunications and energy disputes in particular. Her experience also encompasses English High Court litigation, as well as regulatory enforcement and internal investigations.

Ms Wazen also regularly advises clients in relation to data privacy and cyber security issues, including complex cross-border investigations and disputes with data protection authorities, international data transfers, breach incidents and GDPR compliance.

Ms Wazen is ranked as a “Rising Star” in The Legal 500 UK 2022 for International Arbitration.

Ms Wazen is fluent in English, French, Dutch, Portuguese and Italian, and has a working knowledge of Spanish and Turkish.

Prior to joining Gibson Dunn, Ms Wazen was a senior associate in a leading US law firm in London.
